María García Chanzá

María García Chanzá is a partner in the Tax area of ROMÁ BOHORQUES TAX & LEGAL. She has more than 15 years' experience in providing tax advice to groups of companies at national and international level, focusing in particular on family businesses.
She has managed major corporate acquisitions and divestments in a wide range of sectors including automotive, food, industry, real estate and software.
She specialises in advising high net worth clients, restructuring transactions and tax litigation. Specifically, she is the Head of the Tax Litigation Department where she has acted in highly complex tax proceedings, as well as overseeing review cases before Administrative Courts and Judicial Review proceedings before the Courts of Justice.
She began her professional career at GARRIGUES, specialising in the Tax Litigation and Real Estate areas.
She frequently contributes articles to technical journals and specialised media publications. She is a lecturer at EDEM Escuela de Empresarios in the Master's in Finance and has taught as a collaborating lecturer in the Master's in Business Legal Advice at the Fundación de Estudios Bursátiles y Financieros (FEBF). She regularly gives presentations at various seminars, breakfasts and conferences on tax-related topics.
She holds a Bachelor's in Law from the University of Valencia, a Master's in Taxation and Tax Consultancy from the Centro de Estudios Financieros and an Executive Master's in Business Law from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
In 2020 and 2021 she was ranked by the international Chambers & Partners Directory as one of the best tax lawyers in the Spanish market in the Up&Coming category. In 2022 she was promoted to Band 5 in the Chambers Directory.
The 2021 and 2022 editions of the Iberian Lawyer Directory named her as the best lawyer in the Tax category of the Forty Under 40 Ranking.
In 2022, she won the Iberian Lawyer award for the best tax lawyer in Spain and Portugal under the age of 40.
